Cedar Falls Historical Society

A New Lens for Local History

This exciting new interactive exhibit will interpret the history of business, industry, agriculture, and transportation in Cedar Falls, Iowa, providing unique historical context for the first time through the lenses of science, technology, engineering, and math. This is the story of people, technology, and innovation in the development of Cedar Falls.

The team, led by Bluewater Studio, in partnership with Lord Cultural Resources, WeatherstonBruer Associates, and Crux Creative, is working to plan, design, fabricate and install exhibits for the newly built facility. It is the goal of the Cedar Falls Historical Society to create a modern, interactive museum that appeals to all ages, bringing the community’s unique history to life.

“We were impressed by how carefully they listened to us – to our concerns, our dreams, and our fears… The Bluewater team is easy to talk to and our meetings were relaxed and fun. They shared even complex design concepts in a way that sparked our creativity and allowed us to feel fully a part of the process.” – Julie Huffman-klinkowitz, Collections Manager – Cedar Falls Historical Society
