Cretaceous Crossroads
A design-build team led by Bluewater Studio designed and developed the new Cretaceous Crossroads exhibit at the Museum of the Rockies (MOR) in partnership with Lord Cultural Resources and WeatherstonBruer Associates. This is the museum’s most significant paleontology exhibit in over ten years.
This permanent exhibit spans 2,300 square feet and offers engaging, science-based exhibits of mounted dinosaurs and marine reptiles, nests, eggs, micro-vertebrates, and engaging interactives and media components.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors take advantage of opportunities for hands-on engagement, including discovery drawers, a video-magnifier for micro-fossil examination, tactile components and a unique scent experience.
Continuing its longstanding tradition as a hub of active research and exploration, the MOR paleontology department has assembled one of the largest collections of North American dinosaurs in the world, predominantly discovered within Montana.
Cretaceous Crossroads showcases over 100 specimens from MOR’s collections – many of which have not been previously exhibited including three complete large-scale dinosaur skeletons.
