Siouxland Freedom Park

In the Land of the Free Because of the Brave

Siouxland Freedom Park (SFP) honors American veterans and the men and women currently serving the United States by educating visitors on the military’s role in protecting America’s freedom and providing a healing place for reflection and contemplation.

A team led by Bluewater Studio partnered with the SFP board and community members to create exhibits in the 3,700-square-foot Brigadier General Bud and Doris Day Interpretive Center. Inspired by and incorporating the Center’s growing oral history collection, the exhibits explore and honor the deeply personal experience of military service and the lasting impact and personal cost of this service.

“When I think of our dad’s legacy and our mom’s legacy … we are honored by the people of this community and what it’s doing to inspire future generations.” – George Day, Jr.
